The BlackBerry Curve is a versatile smartphone with MMS and video recording capabilities. To install an application to the BlackBerry Curve, one of two methods may be used. Either an application may be downloaded directly to the device, such as with the BlackBerry App World application, or the application may be installed using a computer connected to the device and running the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software. The Desktop Manager software may be downloaded from the BlackBerry website, free of charge. Download the application installation file and save the file to the hard drive to install the software using the Desktop Manager.
Instructions
1.Click the "Menu" button on the device. The Menu button is to the immediate left of the trackpad or trackball.2.Click the "BlackBerry App World" icon. The BlackBerry App World application will open. Alternatively, open the Internet Browser icon on the device and enter the URL of a downloadable BlackBerry application (such as Google Maps for Mobile.)
3.Click on the the application to download it.
4.Press the trackball or trackpad on the "Download" link, when prompted. The application will download to the BlackBerry Curve.
5.Press the trackpad or trackball on the "Install" prompt, when it appears. The application will install on the BlackBerry Curve.
6.Press "OK" to confirm the installation when it's complete and you receive a prompt.
Install Applications to the BlackBerry Curve using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager
1.Connect the BlackBerry Curve to the computer using the USB connector cable.2.Click the Windows "Start" button and then click "All Programs." Click the "BlackBerry Desktop Manager" option to open the application. The BlackBerry Curve registers in the desktop application and the device PIN appears listed in the lower right corner of the main menu.
3.Click the "Application Loader" icon in the main menu of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
4.Click the "Add/Remove Applications" option, and then click "Start." A list of installed applications appears.
5.Click the "Browse" button and navigate to the saved application installation file on the hard drive. Click on the file and click "Open." The program name will appear in the list of applications with a designation of "Install."
6.Click "Next" and then click "Finish." The application installs on the BlackBerry Curve and when it's finished, a notification message appears.
7.Disconnect the BlackBerry Curve from the computer and enjoy your new application.
