If your BlackBerry has encountered problems, it may be necessary to reinstall the operating system. To get started, download the operating system to your computer. Reinstalling your BlackBerry OS to the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 will completely remove all data on your phone, so make sure you have copies of important documents, messages or photographs.
Instructions
1.Navigate to your carrier's download section on its website. Browse through the downloads until you find the links for the BlackBerry operating system for the Pearl 8100. Once downloaded, make sure your BlackBerry is not connected to the computer. Double-click the downloaded file to install the new operating system to your computer.2.Click "Start," then type "C:" and press Enter." Double-click "Program Files," "Common Files," "Research in Motion," then "AppLoader." Double-click "Loader."
3.Click "Next," then connect your BlackBerry to the computer. Select "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN" from the Connection list and click "Next."
4.Select the additional features of the operating system you wish to reinstall, then click "Next."
5.Click "Finish" and wait for your operating system to reinstall. This can take up to an hour depending on what you choose to install. Click "Close" once the process has finished.
